Play the Deck
Watch her wry smile
As you stare back
Welcome to the game of lies
Take my hand
And we'll both learn how to play
We take two cards
Stare at each other
Eyes filled with lies
Our love's grand demise
She sees our death
Up on the stage
You walk up the steps to join her
I glare at you
Hating every centimeter of your skin
My heart writhes in acid
I place down a card
You should know better than to lose your guard
The smirk comes up her face
Her who is I
and I who is her
But then there's person number 3
or rather, person number one?
We play a game of cards
when there's nothing left to say
the lies have been laid down
With a curtsy I say
Adeiu
And place my hands on an all new deck of cards
A true smile my face records
One like never before
No need to hide behind the cards
I look back at the old game
Oh how very glad am I
that I no longer have to play
